I just wanted to Thank yall for your help..Ran out and got me the right Champion Plugs for my 1984 Johnson 90 hp..I also checked my firing and found out the coil above the one that had been changed wasnt firing..Pulled the plug up top that connects the 2 coils together and 1 of the pins in that plug was bent and wasnt going into its socket.Bent the pin back up right fired it up and you could tell a difference in the sound of the motor on the muffs, it just sounded like it was finally hitting on all four. Went back like yall said and pulled the wires off 1 by 1 and all 4 made her stumble..Thank goodness..
Hopefully gonna get her to the lake Sunday and get her going. Do yall think that could have been my RPM problem ????????
Thank Yall again very much..

Robby Brannon
Simpsonville SC

Hopefully that was all your problem. If she sounds good on the muffs.

Take her for a ride. And yes a missing cylinder most certainly will cause an RPM drop. So will a dozen other things unfortunely.

Good Luck!

Well I thank You again...It sounded alot better on the muffs and it started alot easier and stronger..Were keeping our fingers crossed..We got the boat from my father-in-law and he had just used it the weekend before we got it and said it ran approx 52mph via GPS, so I new something wasnt right when I couldnt even squeeze 40 out of her.
