I'd just like to say that this forum is amazing. I just bought my first powerboat yesterday, 1993 Bayliner 1952 classic cuddy, Mercruiser 3.0. As we were hooking up our new (to us) boat, the old owner mentioned "the up trim button doesn't work, but I just use the trailer button"...

After reading the forum last night, I figured it must be the trim limit switch. I spent most of today taking it apart, replacing wires, cleaning, soldering, etc. I just got it back together and it's working perfectly. I even found enough information to get the trim limit adjusted properly.

I figure I just saved about $500 by fixing it myself. I will admit the fix is a bit of a bandage job, since I just spliced the old wires, but I figure it will hold me until its time for a new set of bellows. I found a splice already there, so I'm apparently the second shade tree mechanic that's been fiddling with it.

Thanks to all of you on this forum. I think I'm going to be lurking around here for a while.
