Well, the time has come to finally trade up my old boat for a new model. Since my ole' 1976 evinrude 75 hp will be celebrating it's 30th birthday in a couple more months, I figured now is as good as any to trade it off.
I wanted to express my gratitude to all of the helpful folks on this forum, who in no small part, has been extremely helpful in getting the old girl back in tip-top shape and running strong. I will be (somewhat reluctantly) moving to a Mercury ELIPTO 115 ('99) come spring, and am hopeful the folks on the Merc side of this forum will be as helpful as you all have been. So long, and thanks. Fallen Rock.

Oh yeah .. those merc guys are REMARKABLY GOOD. You see, when something breaks all the time, you have to get very good to keep it going. Just joshin' ;) .. I have had good luck with the black beasts .. they just seem harder to work on to me. Best o' luck!

What do you mean goodbye? Are you saying that if you go black you cant even talk to folks here?

I'm sure no one will ban you from this forum. Come back anytime!

Thanks gents....you're all really inspiring confidence in my decision! Talk about buyers remorse....and I haven't even signed the papers yet!! The first 'accessory' purchase will be a kicker for the new boat, so I'll try to get a johnny-rude, to keep everybody guessing. That way, I'll always have something reliable to get me back to the dock. Whatcha think?

You'll find a few of us hanging out there too. After all, I'd be dang bored waiting for Johnnyrude problems all the time. The Merc forum keeps me plenty entertained. ;)

Well.....looks like I'm not going anywhere afterall. The Mercury just wouldn't run right, even on the second demo with the Mechanic right there during the ride. (I know, I should have walked after the first demo went bad....but I had faith). It also turns out I'm having another baby in the spring, so I'm just going to live with the ole Rude for another year.
