Last October I was given a 1958 Johnson 5.5 hp. Knowing nothng about outboard motors I started an internet research on it. I then searched and ordered the parts I needed and went to work. Undretand that I am not a mechanic but an artist.I followed directions I got here. I even put a mekuni vacum pulse fuel pump on the motor. After I finished, it sat for three months. I was sure it wasn't going to run. Well, I finally got up enough gumpsion and tried it in a trash can. Lo and behold it worked. I took it out on the water yesterday and it ran as sweet as I could have ever dreamed. People here in Iboats gave me great advice and council. I would just like to thank them. Thanks.
