Thanks to all who post answers.
I read one a couple weeks ago about adjusting the carbs on a 85 HP.
Book said 7/8 turn and then tweek. HAH. Nothing but stalling and hard starting. They also suggested a cheap try would be a fuel pump.
Well, I bought a fuel pump kit from Iboats, and installed it. I then lightly seated the carb adjustment screws and then turned them out 1 1/4 turns, like the post suggested. WHAT a difference.
Cold start, the engine started up quickly, with fast idle, and after a few seconds, I backed it off, and (w0w) no stalling. No restarts, like 3 and 4 times. Also, after fishing for 3 hours, I simply pushed the key in for choke, and turned it, and it started right up.
This not the only time that I have had some answers for my problems, but this onehelped fix a real nagging problem.
Thanks again,
Mike
