Just wanted to say thanks for all of the good info on here. I went out fishing Sunday morning. Put the motor in reverse and the engine stalled. HMMM...well it was really cold so I figured no big deal since it started right up and went into gear. Had a great day of fishing and came back in. It was windy and only one ramp in so I put it in neutral. Started to blow off course and went to put it in gear and nothing. HMMM...put it in reverse and it stalled. Started back up and was able to put it in gear. Got to the dock and went to put in reverse to slow her down a little and stalled again. Did a quick search on here and determined it is a shift cable problem. I am no where near a mechanic so I will be taking it in. Unfortunaltly, it isn't at home so I can't take it to mine. At least I have a heads up as to what to expect. What would a normal price of that service cost? I have read all of the info on how to do it so I expect to be a little pricey but I'm not gonna get taken.

Re: Thanks

Ayuh,.... Donno what it'll cost ya, as it depends on local labor rates...

I do suggest you consider replacing ALL the rubber parts, while it's apart though, especially if you don't know how long ago the bellows were done...
You'll save money in the long run...

Re: Thanks

Does someone have a pic or drawing of where / how to remove the speedo tube? I really have no idea where it is.

Thanks
Joe
