I want to take the opportunity to thanks those of you iboats members, (like Don, Rodbolt, and others,)who have taken the time to answer my questions, and those who helped without knowing. I have become addicted to this site since I got this boat and without it, and those who participate here, I would not have taken on this project. I have read countless postings referring to similar issues that I have run into and gotten great information here. I've included a link to my project boat and your comments and opinions are welcome. Hopefully after a in water test this weekend, I will be moving on to cosmetic issues. Thanks again, Joe

http://www.shareaproject.com/pages/imageDetail,p,101,i,1337,00.html

I took the Wellcraft out for a shake down cruise yesterday, and I'm happy to report, everything went well. I've posted a few new photos at shareaproject.

I put in at Borac's Landing, however, my in laws are members at CLYC. Are you originally from Lake County, Ohio?

Re: Thanks!!!

Not originally but lived 20 years in the Chagrin Falls area. Had a SIL whose parents had a slip at CLYC for a number of years.

Want to know where your boat came from? Check out my website (down below). The Nova Marine section has all the info on the boat before WellCraft bought the molds for it.

Re: Thanks!!!

Thanks for the great info. and history lesson. Believe it or not, this is the second Wellcraft 196 I've owned. I stumbled across this one, but I owned the exact same boat, color scheme and all, about 20 years ago. That one was a '79 though. I'm having fun with her and learning a lot along the way. I'm looking to do some more research on the boat because I don't have any original specs from Wellcraft. Joe
