So Saturday I go the extra 10 miles out of my way to go to the ramp thats never that busy so I wouldnt have to deal with any idiots while Im trying to launch my boat. So after fighting the traffic and dealing with all the spring breakers on Siesta Key I get all the way to the south end of the island to find two empty ramps, sweeeet, right? No, I try to be thoughtfull of others even though Im the only one there I pull off to the side of the parking lot just before the ramp and begin my routine of getting the boat ready when this idiot from Ohio pulls his truck and trailor up right in front of the ramp completeley blocking it as I am putting in my last plug before I launch my boat. This guy spent twenty muinites loading his coolers and poles and kids toys and everything imaginable into his boat. Well patient as I am I cracked a cold one and had a smoke and waited as other boats were now coming in at the other ramp. So finaly this guy goes ahead and puts his boat in the water by himself even though he had just loaded enough gear for at least five people. The launching was actualey pretty qiuck compared to the preporation, he backed the boat down and tied it off at the end of the dock and went to park his truck, finaley my turn.I launch my boat quikley as to show him how that works and parked my truck next to his and when I get out I notice he is on the phone so I just let it go and get on my way. I got on my boat and started it up and as Im pulling away around his boat I notice its sitting pretty low in the water. Now normalley I would do what I could to help but in this situation all I could do was shout across the pakinglot that his boat was going down, he aknowleged me and I went on my way.Apparentley he thought I was just being funny though because I was out for about six hours and when I got back that silly man from Ohio was now joined by his brother and his very angry wife trying to figure out how to get his boat off the bottom of the bay enough to get his trailor back under it. I asked him what went wrong and he said that he was in a hurry to get out of my way and forgott to put the plug in and by the time he got off the phone it had sank. So the next time your at the ramp and someone holds you up just remember, dont get mad just take the extra time to make sure your ready for a fun safe day on the water, karma will take care of the rest.
