When is the blower on the boat supposed to be used? I don't think my blower is working.

When you turn the switch on. :D:D:D

I don't think make them automatic. All the ones I have seen have a switch at the helm. Really, you should operate the blower for 5 minutes prior to starting and only after sniffing for gas in the bilge area. Also, I think you should operate if moving slower than 10 miles per hour. I have a habit of just letting mine run all the time, unless I am beached.

Never run it during a fueling operation.

Gas fumes go "BANG". Operate the blower to remove the fumes before starting the engine.

Yeah-nothing electrical while fueling, then 5 min prior to starting, I usually turn mine on as I'm getting all the tiedowns off. VERY Often I leave it running, we do a lot of skiing and its just easier, they are cheap-very cheap. Here in Phoenix, AZ we JUST had a boat blow up during engine start, not sure if that was the culprit but ??? Better safe then stuck on dry land fighting with the Insurance Co.
