Just thought I would share a photo from Port Washington, WI of the Denis Sullivan in the fog this morning. The tall ships are leaving town Friday,
The Denis Sullivan is surrounded by fog early Thursday. The sound of a fog horn blew in the distance as the sun tried to burn off the early morning fog from the Lake Michigan shoreline. Six tall ships are in Milwaukee through Friday afternoon after they completed a summer tour of the Great Lakes.

I just love these ships, and what they embody. Kinda makes me wonder if I was born in the wrong century?

Tom Lynn's photo- thanks for the great shot:)

Saw that on JSonline this morning. Great photo but that's not Port Washington. That's Pier Wisconsin in Milwaukee harbor. :D

JSonline has a whole gallery of pics today.

I like this one with the Bounty behind the Sullivan in the fog.

yeah I love those ships as well. I actually took the ride on one of them out of Port Washington 2 summers ago. rode around for I think 4 hours. went up to sheboygan almost and back. was very fun to be onboard and meet the crew and see what it was like to sail her.

made you want to walk with a limp and scream har har har all day. LOL

When I was a teenager my father was in the navy and his last tour of duty was Bermuda. There is (was?) a tall ship race that we were a stopping point for their atlantic crossing...I'm not sure how competitive it was or if it was more of a nostalgia race. Anyways, those things are absolutely breath taking when you see them coming in under sail.
