So long story short as I received the valuable info in a post last night - I pulled the infamous screw that has the nut holder that drops in the water jackets on a Cobra OMC outdrive with 4.3 motor. I was able to flush out a rectangular plastic piece that had some type of glue on it but will not hold the screw in place so that tells me I still need the actual holder (noticed same glue on back of rubber gromet .
From reading all the threads some sugestions are to pull whole drive to service and grease and others are to drop lower drive as metal piece will be down there. I just had the drive serviced and u joints greased etc and wondering what would be best way to get this corrected at a minmal cost before I call my boat mechanic or is this something I can easily do.
