The gas gage wire

Hello


the boat i own from the day i got it. Used the gas gage did not work . The bass boat has two fuel tanks the switch tow the tow fule tanks has two wies o both sides pink . I do not know what the center connection is it a + wire or is it a (-) wire. Need some help.

The center wire is neither, it is the sender wire. It reads resistance in relation to ground. As your float changes positions, the resistance readings change, reflected in your gauge readings. There is no 12+ going to your senders. There IS a 12V+ going to your gauge, as the gauge needs power to operate. The switch on your dash simply allows you to switch back and forth between tanks to see what quantity of fuel you have in each tank.

Check for voltage on the gauge (the wire connected to the "I" terminal), and check your grounds all the way through...both senders, and the gauge.
