Why is a show like "Sliced" even on the THC? The show hasn't even aired, but I don't get it. I'm not knocking the show per say, I've watched other shows on their network that have nothing to do with history, it just seems out of place.

The History Channel should be called something else. If you want to learn history a better option is History International. Way better shows that cover a broader range of areas.

It seems that whoever owns it doesn't really want folks learning history.

History does not bore me at all, but I do get tired of seeing the same documentaries several times a year for several years. The H-Intl channel does the same thing.

Of course a lot of what they call "history" is merely what they read in some bad history book and resembles truth only in the vaguest way.

I have to add that the "Ancient Aliens" program is a bit of a stretch as "history" as well.

Seems like they have been favoring theoretical history, they've covered the Nostradamus stuff, Bible code and have some people convinced that we were a colony started on earth by aliens like an ant farm.

What do you mean it hasn't aired? They've shown 2 episodes already, with a new one tomorrow.

I just turn the channel when I don't like something ;)

Nope, this will be their 3rd episode.

I too love History, and watch THC but you have to be objective. I catch them in tall tales many times.

Is that not the truth though, I watch the history channel/historical programs from various countries, and it is always funny how history slants one way or another. I am sure that some one will come up with the victor writes the history thing, but there are many empires not around any more. so I guess it's up to the archeologists to sift through the sands and hear says to form a picture for us. :)

An ant farm! Now I know why my hearing is so bad at times. My wife keeps pulling out the two long strands of hair from my ears and all this time they are my antennas. :) :)

I love Modern Marvels and a few other in-depth documantaries they have. Sliced?.... eh, not so much. Seems to be going after destructive shock value over educational substance. Cut in Half on Nat Geo(?) is a better version of the same theme.
If you think that those shows have no basis on true "history" wait untill they pick up Top Gear America sometime this fall.
