First of all, Viet Nam was not a left vs right thing, it was a smart vs dumb thing.

Communism was worth resisting, it really was a menace to all mankaind n' killed more humans then any other philosophy/religion in history. Ya do what ya have ta do to win IF YA HAVE TA GO TO WAR IN THE FIRST PLACE. War is the ultimate in selfishness that the Left does not get, (hopefully ya have some allies but ya win whether ya got 'em or not if ya go to war). Clearly defined military objectives, (as used by the modern Left) is to help our enemy beat us. We had clear objectives in Vietnam, we jus' had a terrible President doodlin' instead of lettin' the Generals win the war as Barry Goldwater would have done. N' the Left wanted a crushin' defeat. Both you and I grew up at that time and we both know the Jane Fonda types wanted the Commies to crush us. That is the point of this SPOT ON ARTICLE. The Loons in the Left in the late 1960s and early 1970s knew they were workin' closely with the KGB, (John Kerry knew as well). They wanted us beaten! They spit on OUR SOLDERS!! I was there n' so were you. THE ENEMY WITHIN BEAT US, we could have supported the South and they may have held!! Teddy Oldsmobile n' his crowd of dim wit Dems intentionally CAUSED THIS DISASTER!!

At least Bush is finally recognizing that he has succeeded in changing the balance of power in the region, and that Iraq is likely to become not our ally in the WOT, but Iran's ally, which of course is the last thing in the world we wanted.
