Were the muffs bolted to the outdrive? Not sure what kind of muffs he used, but mine slip right on and off, and definately would not stay attached long enough to break a underground pipe, if I simply drove off with them still attached to my outdrive.

it depends on which side you slide them on...........prop side yeah slip right off, from the other side..well you see what can happen lol

as for leaving the muffs on.......... well i would have sunk them or discarded of them in some way rather than being caught removing them in the drink at the lake!! roflmao!!!!

do you not use a transom saver?....... if not well i could see how you maybe dont look at the lu before launching ........ now if you do use a saver , well thats another story...its funny for us but not so much for you

So, I just refuse to deal with refereeing kids' battles during the pre-trip maintenance anymore.

You said it!! The kids are the x factor with all of our power sports activities. You can plan it all out but add in the kids and sometimes nagging wife and good luck.

Speaking of forgetting things. One time while at the cabin i pulled the 6 gallon tank out of my dads 73 chrysler boat and filled it...set it off to the side of the dock and proceeded to round up the passengers....about half way across the lake (fairly small lake) the engine sputtered. Thought to myself crap forgot to open the plug turned around and realized my mistake....no gas tank, turned immediatly back towards the dock....well 15 minutes later after rowing back leaned a good lesson. At least with my boat now the tank isnt removable :p

Another good thing about my OMC stringer. It's alot easier to be subtle while screwing the cap back on the flush adapter.

Not that I've ever had to do that.

I've read about a couple other people forgetting the muffs in this SHT forum. You guys need to get a cheap one-piece plastic set of Wal-Mart muffs like I own. There's no way to remove the hose without taking the muffs off the motor first.

Now, if you forget the hose is on there too...

Oh, I have... Kept overheating on plane.... Had to idle 10 miles around in the bay in Florida to get back to the ramp where as soon as I pulled the boat out of the water, saw the cap dangling by it's little "necklace"!!!!

DOH!!!!
