Hello all, I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm looking at getting a new boat, I'd like to go a little faster than my current boat. Does anyone have a rough idea how fast a 2000 Four Winns 180 Horizon w/ a 3.0 Volvo Penta will go? Its advertised as 135hp, I've heard anywhere from 38-42mph, can anyone confirm?

We have an '06 Horizon 180 with the Mercruiser 3.0L rated at 135HP that I have gotten up to a maximum 42mph. I imagine the 2000 (which I think is larger than our 17'6") would go slightly slower due to the increased weight, but I have not verified that.

The low 40's would be good for that boat/motor.

I have an 06 Horizon 180 (3.0) and get 42 mph top speed and am satisfied with the boats performance and even more satisfied with the overall quality of construction. I switched out the factory prop for a Turning Point Hustler 14.25 X 21 and improved the boats overall performance.
