Hi all, just found you guys and like what is going on here, I'm new to the game and have been rowing myself around for the last 3 yrs. I just bought a 14 ft mirrorcraft alum boat, factor trailer and 25 hp Evinrude outboard motor today.

Have a few questions 1) the model number on motor is 25905R Serial # E0001884, I think it is a 1979? but would like to know for sure. Would also like to know all the details on how to winterize the upper and lower of the motor please.

I only paid 800.00 for this and trailer has new tires and the motor runs excellent and boat looks like it has been stored inside its whole like, has one hole in front that looks like it was professional fixed. What to you all think this package is worth, because I know I got a real deal.

It is a 1979.
The only thing you have to do to winterize an outboard it to change the lower unit oil to make sure there is no water in it. The rest of the motor drains itself.

BTW it sounds like you got a good deal if the motor is OK and hull doesn't leak.
If you have to put it away now (you mentioned winterizing) work on the hull over the winter. I assume you tested it in water; did you note whether the transom flexed when you went from 0 to full? If so think about replacing or strengthening it.
