Not stop, but yes, particularly females. I can absolutely prove to you that removal of negative stigma can increase the rate of anything. Anybody who can handle a 16 MB file I will email something very interesting. (BTW, I am very against copywrite infringements, but in the interest of this I will "share") I am sure it will be maligned but that's OK.<br /><br />I want to be very clear, so that I am not visciously attacked. I don't care what homosexuals do in private, and I don't care a lot if they walk down the street holding hands. I wish them no evil, I wish them happiness. I wish them a decent life. With that said can you please site (is it site or sight?) one benefit to society et al of endorsed, same-sex unions?
Well, the gays will stop *****ing about wanting to get married. I would consider that a benefit. But in general, no, there are no benefits to society by letting them marry, but there are no benefits to society by banning them from marriage either.<br /><br />I find it down right hilarious that people have their panties in such a twist that they won't let them marry, but at the same time don't care if they're allowed "civil unions". It's just semantics...it's like saying "no you can't murder anybody, but I don't care if you beat them with a hammer until they stop breathing".

Oh, but I disagree. Society should be about promoting the ideal. What whoever it is that wants these things wants, is for you to believe that there is no difference between heterosexual and homosexual relationships. No better, no worse, no good, no bad . . . and I think that is destructive. There are huge benefits to raising children with both a loving mother and loving father, and our society should promote that, not make all choices equal.<br /><br />Just for clarification. I was raised by a single mother who I have a tremendous amount of respect for and I have never felt that I had a bad childhood etc. So I am not saying that single mothers or other alternative homes are bad, nor am I saying that there aren't bad homes with heterosexual parents. Both are obvious to me.
