Re: the right prop
Unless someone has the same identical boat, engine, and operates identically to the way you do, we can only guess what prop is best. You've not told us what you the wide open throttle rpm you observe with an average load and what prop you are running now. That's the critical information needed when making a prop change. For all you know, the one you have now may be optimum. The best prop is one that allows the engine to operate at or near the upper end of the manufacturers wide open throttle rpm band which is normally about 5500 rpm. Speed, hole shot, and economy will be the best it can be with that prop. You can go up or down in pitch from there but hole shot, speed and economy will vary accordingly.
