Leavin' home so I can arrive Monday morning to pickup my Crestliner. I hope it even looks better in person than what it did in the photos because it'll make my trip home more enjoyable! Crazy...maybe but I think I'm going to enjoy this boat so it'll be worth the drive to me.

Here's the route I'm going:

I'll be down in your neck of the woods early summer. And when you are at the Breezewood exit in PA you are an hour from my place ... Yell real loud when you go by and we will shout back at you! LOL! Be safe and enjoy your road trip!

I'll honk the horn a couple of times as I fly by. Thanks.

My vehicle got a ticket when I was road tripping up between DC and Baltimore...dang cameras!! Week and a half later I receive a notice in the mail with photos of my Jeep and trailer. So now when I see warning signs that say "Speed limit enforced by camera" I'll be slowing down some!
My wife has already made a list of cheeses that she wants me to pickup in Wisconsin. :( I told her I wasn't going on a shopping trip, the goal is to pickup a boat and high-tail-it back to VA as quick as possible....not be looking for some weird cheese!! LOL But I know I won't be leaving home without a cooler in my Jeep and a list handed to me.

Holly crap, that must be one sweet ***** boat to drive all that way to pick it up.

Good luck on the trip. Do you have a co-pilot to help out with the driving?

If I'm not mistaken.....the word curds was on the list of hers! Sorry no cheese deliveries.

Moody........nope......just me and my ipod. It's a good thing I have 7,800+ songs on it!! :D This will be the longest trip I've made in the last 15 yrs....before that a 17.5 would be a drive in the park for me but it's been a long time since I hit the road with a distance like this...gonna see if this old body can put up with living in a vehicle for a whole day!

Hey there River Lizard.

Buying from Rawhide, right?

To get to Rawhide:

Take 45 north to 96.

96 west to Readfield.

Then County W north to HH.

HH west to Ernst Road.

Ernst Road north to Weiland Road.

Weiland Road west to Rawhide road, to the end, on the left.

Quite a facility.

Take a few minutes to walk thru the visitor center.

Once you get 40 miles north of Milwaukee, stop at Kwik Trip gas stations.
Clean, good snacks and sandwiches, and ethanol free gas.

There is a Fleet Farm on the west frontage road in Oshkosh, just in case you need any tie downs, or a set of trailer lights, or tires.

I'll be about 10 miles downstream of Rawhide on Sunday, as the spring walleye spawning run is just starting.

Drive safe.

Oh, if you are looking for a motel, avoid Oshkosh.

Try Appleton or Fond du Lac.

If you are into aviation, stop at the EAA (Experimental Aviation Association) museum and grounds. South side of Oshkosh, east frontage road.

If you need any further info, just ask.

Re: The Sunday morning crazy trip...17.5

Thanks for the great information Roscoe! Appreciate it. No sightseeing runs on this trip, the most I plan to do purchase some cheese for the Mrs  then I'm hitting the road to home again. Going to see if I can't hit at least Ohio by Monday evening, then stop for some shut eye for about 4 or 5 hrs and then finish up the drive home. Would like to get home sometime Tuesday morning if possible.

If you can, nab some curds - especially if you've never had them before. Few people realize how good that stuff is. Cheese in Wisconsin is an art form.

Have a good trip.

Re: The Sunday morning crazy trip...17.5

If you haven't done Pittsburgh to South Bend Indiana before, there are a lot of tolls. Most take credit & atm as I remember. Might be more then $40 each way. When I was last that way, the Ohio turnpike rest stop plazas weren't but about 5 or 7cents more on gas & significantly easier to use then getting off the toll road.

Travel & drive safe! Looking forward to seeing your new rig!

I'll try & get a plan for a trip your way soon. I need to make a trip to Martinsburg, WV soon for work, that'd be 2/3rds there.....

Yikes, that quite a drive. I'd have had it delivered like my recent tow vehicle. Bought it on Friday via pictures and it was in my driveway Monday noon. Good luck to you.
