Well it looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and send it to a repair shop. It's got new fuel line from the filter back the new fuel. Champion Spark Plug's gaped at .035 top carburetor bowl gasket has been changed all three carbs look clean as a whistle inside but I cleaned the Jets anyways. The coils seem to pass my test. Just don't know where else to turn. The day we had the boat out and it did it right off the bat started it let it run put it in reverse and gave it some gas and it was idling fine but when I go to give it throttle it gets lower lower lower and stalls. Then it starts right back up and I rev it a few times and that we can take off. After sitting in our fishing hole for about an hour and a half and I go to restart and then take off and once again the more I go to get the gas the lower the RPM gets and then it stalls.

Have you tested the output of your fuel pump? Is the vent on the fuel tank open?

The vent seems to be ok because when I add gas I hear it and see the vapor coming out the vent. And how do I go about testing the fuel pump output. And once again thanks for all the advice.

Are you absolutely sure everything in carbs are clean? Used a fine grade wire to clean passages? Core plugs? If you have good compression and good "checked with a tester" spark" it has to run if you have fuel.

I only ran a wire through the main jet and the carbs looked very clean. And I'm running the champ plugs. The comp and boat gets right up on plain it's just the bog when trying to throttle up. And the spark seemed good with the tester.

Ok so a little update a Johnson dealer and repair shop told me it sounds like the low speed part of the stator. Now I really have no clue lol. But I'm going to let them look at it and I will let you all know.

don't know the year model of your 70 but if it's 1976 - 1978 have you searched for OMC Service Bulletin #1144?

It's a 1999 70hp and it's at the dealer now. It makes sense if there is such a thing as a low speed stator. The boat only seems to have a problem when I come off Idol or trolling or restart and put it into gear to go slow but is ok if I restart and gun it it's great.

Engine does not have multi speed stator.
Did you do compression test?

Have had a couple of posts on this motor problem so just to fill you all in. First repair shop that it went to did a complete electrical test on it and found the CDI box with no good. Ya right The second I put in the water still had the problem then it went back and they set all linkages to factory spec change the fuel filter again. So now it's at another repair shop but it certified in Johnson motors. Compression was great.

Great compression means nothing, need the numbers. If they did a complete electrical test, what are there test results for charge coil, powerpack and timerbase. Can`t help much without the test results. This engine has a history of low compression middle cylinder.
