The water is boiling around the engine during the first minutes

After the engine has started, the surrounding water is like a jacuzzi and bubble wildly for a couple of minutes even if the shift is in neutral and the propeller is still. Is this really normal?
The engine is giving a normal jet of coolant water even during these minutes.

andy, the motor has the thru hub exhaust, it come's out the center of the prop. it will bubble especially at fast idle.

If you will look on the rear of the midsection of your engine, about 4-6" below the power head/cowling, you will see a couple of holes or similar critters. Purpose is to let the exhaust gasses out without having the resistance of the water and the prop exit.

For that to work, you have to back off the throttle to idle.
