I'm not familier with your area but there are many shops that replate or will sleeve engines, if nothing else ck with a local dealer or machine shop to find some one in your aera--Bob---we always pull the powerheads on the boats

I think that V/6 fully dressed is 225-250 I am not sure as we pretty much strip them before removal---Bob

Gotta be stripped to do the job. May as well do it before you send it unless you want them to dress it back. In that case you just pull the complete dressed powerhead and thats how you get it back. Lots of shops will do it that way. Flagship, Mar Fab etc.

Re: the worst sound an outboard can make !

ok ... a closer look at the connecting rod shows corrosion ... so i bought a used one and the cylinder head is shot so i bought a used one there too ...im installing new needle bearings on the wrist pin and roller bearings on the connecting rod..also when i spun the main crank lower bearing it made a sound that i figgure can only get worse so i bought a new one there too..im not likin the sound of the crank bearings just above that so thats getting replaced too .. piston ring set and all new gaskets and seals should ensure a trouble free season ... i hope
