A while back I made a few posts about getting my boat stuck , bending the prop etc etc.
I couldnt figure out why I couldnt get this boat thru with out getting stuck.
Last week a news reporter was standing in the exact spot I was stuck. At Wiggans pass ( Gulf, Naples Fl.) and the water was 18 inches deep at low tide. They said it needed dredged again and maybe after Nov. It would be done. Thats my only way out to the Gulf. Still tho, They wont dredge the canals and I have to get thru there also.
I felt better as a boater knowing it wasnt all my fault. I trusted their signs that ( low tide mean 3 feet) was true. They have since added new warning signs.( caution extremely low water)

I remember your post about that incident. I never use wiggans, but that's just crazy they won't dredge it and it's now down to 18 inches. They have been dredging Gordon pass the past 6-7 months. Maybe they're also saving some money so they can dredge clam pass!

Lots of places have been "abandoned" to the elements and no dredging. It's important to know when the channel markers have become historical markers. I often rely more on the crab pot bouys than the channel markers in the neglected areas.
