I have a 1985 30 hp mariner,impeller 1 year old,has no pee hole but water comes out of the two exhoaust holes when running in tub,but head gets very hot..could thermostat be stuck,,where is thermo located??how do you remove it?
To each his own. When I was a teenager, my daddy bought a 10 hp Scott Atwater and that was our fishing machine. I can't tell you how many times I ran that engine for a few minutes at home, out of the water, with a dry impeller and we had that engine for like 10 years and never had a problem with it, much less cooling when using it.......that was till I was running up the river one day and looked down and saw a railroad piling about 3" beneath the surface which was about a split second before I heard this wham and the mid section split in half.
