thermostat bolt stuck

i am trying to remove a stuck thermostat bolt i dont have any problems with over heating i just wanted to check if there was a thermostat in the used engine that i got.should i take the chance of breaking it off or just leave it alone and dont worry about it ?

thats kinda what i thought i will leave it and hit it with pb blaster every now and then. i just wanted to see if there was a thermostat in there but i live in florida and dont think that i would have a problem

I've used a trick to getting the bolts to break lose. I was having problems with a head bolt and an old timmer told me to strike the head of the bolt with a hammer before you try to losen it. He sad that tapping it would help bust up any corrosion that is holding it in there.. And another way would be to add a little heat to it with a torch.
