Hey everyone,

I received my new thermostat housing gasket. Just wondering if I need to use any gasket sealant or anything, or just put it in with nothing. I have Permatex Black silicone adhesive sealant. Should I use that, or something else or nothing? Happy Easter!!

I never have on those thermostat housing gaskets unless the engine case is really pitted.
I sand the housing down flat on some glass if needs be.

If you can get away with not using then thats way better, only use it if its really pitted and the gasket is a thin one.

The gasket looks like top quality. It's a full 1/16" thick. The housing and housing cover look good. I'll just clean them up with some sandpaper then and go "naked" on it. Thanks a lot!!
