I had a Mercuriser 4.3 V-6 175 H.P. 2 BBL 1993 engine that blew and I am replacing this engine with a 4.3 V-6 GM Vortech 2009 225 H.P. 4BBL V-6.
everything has aligned up perfectly with this change out except this:
My question is since this new engine is under 2 yr. warrentee , I do not wnat to do ANYTHING wrong during installation that will void my warrentee.
The old thermostat housing on the other motor had the water ports that connected to the Elbow center risers on each side of the old motor.( 6 ports totlal on the housing)
The new style thermostat housing which the dealer of the motor installed, does not have the ablitiy of the ports for the center riser water hose intakes.( 4 ports total 2ea. to exhaust manifolds and one to the fluid cooler, and one to the motor water pump)
Am I to just use a 3/4" brass plug and plug both elbow center risers port intakes and just feed the water into the exhaust manifollds on each side. Is this the correct way to do this and still cool the motor properly?
Thanks
almost ready to fire up this new bad boy. and just want to make absoubtly sure this is correct.
BTY I had the risers and exhaust manifolds testd and totally cleaned out by glass beading and they look like new inside.
Thanks for your assistance - this site is great.
