Is it safe to remove thermostat and run engine? I would like to narrow down my water problem.

Hi i cant speak for outboards but if it was a car u can run it withour a water pump but u cant get it hot or ur in trouble. so im not sure how long u need it to run but if u are only going to run it for a few seconds, that it wouldnt hert. but thats mt opion. mike

Don't run without stat, few seconds fine, but not a good idea for long term, motor may run too cool.
