I took the thermostat housing off of the manifold to remove the thermostat and cant figure out how to take the stat out of the housing, it's off of a 1989 350 mag, any suggestions? It looks like something is holding it in there.

Yeah, I just got done looking at the service manual and noticed there was a spacer in there which is what it looked like when I was trying to remove it. I sprayed a lot of parts blaster on it because of all the rust and I'll try it in the morning.

Re: Thermostat

It's not worth saving it. New ones are only a couple bucks. Drive a narrow tipped screwdriver between it and the housing and bust it out.

actually the parts blaster worked great, turned it upside down and tapped the stat out and the spacer came with it.
