thermostats on a 90hp v4

Could anyone tell me where the stats are situated on a v4. Is their anywhere where i can get a diagram of the motor

A diagram of the engine, as well as troubleshooting and repair procedures are in the shop manual - OMCs are the best in my book.

What year V4 do you Have. I have the shop manual for my 2003 V4. I could scan the pages and sent them to you if you'd like.

mine is one of the first. its from 1986 <br />I dont have any serie numbers seeing that these are not on the motor anymore

Thats certianly not one of the first 90's. If you ever saw how much fuel the original 90's used youd be glad you have the one you do. <br /><br />Anyway, the t-stats are behind that cover just below the exhaust plates. The exhaust plates are the flat covers at the back of the motor between the heads. There is a hose from each head going down to the t-stat housing.

Post a pic of the motor, cover off from the stern. Concentrating on the powerhead.
