They forgot the plug... During during testing. So plug in when out for repairs.

When I picked my boat up from the shop after having work done on the outdrive I noticed two things.

1) The plug was still on the swim platform after driving to and from the shop.
2) As I was putting the boat in my storage spot at the yacht club a lotta water was in the bilge.

The shop that did the work has a huge pit that they put the boat in to test motors.
I realize now that they put my boat in and did the test. A week later they put it in again and checked what they fixed all with out the plug in.The water came into the bilge to a certain level and stayed when it was back on level ground. When I got the nose up in my storage spot out it came..

I guess from now on plug in before sending out for repairs..

or go to a more responsible repair shop.

do they launch the boat or just back it in and leave it on the trailer to test? If the latter, it's still slack but not as bad.

Most shops remove the plugs when the boats come in, just to keep the boat from filling with water if it rains while it's sitting in the lot awaiting repair.
So the plug was left out and some water got in the boat. In reality, mistakes happen.
Was anything damaged?
Did you contact the shop and make them aware of this egregious mistake?

Our town has 2 shops within a 3 hour radius. They do good work and remembered the plug when they dipped it in the pool for testing. They only need to clean or change the water in the pit once in a while since it left a stubborn black stain on my hull and galvanized trailer.

The plug should be the first thing checked before the boat goes in the water no matter who, what, or where!
