thin spots in aluminum gas tank repair question?

I have removed my 24 gallon aluminum gas tank for inside cleaning, it looks great now i'm ready for a 10 micron racor fuel/water separator. But the outside has a couple of very small wear spots, it doesn't leak at all but some of the aluminum has been worn away. Can I build up these spots with JB weld of epoxy resin to prevent further wear? I don't believe these small areas compromise the integrity of the tank but before I glass her in I would like to restore the thickness of the aluminum. Whats the prefered product?

Jb weld will work, PC11 will work, gray marine tex will work (gray not white). Lightly sand the thin spots and put it on.

I have actually used all 3 products above with good success.

Depends on how thick the tank is to begin with and what your interpution of what "small wear spots" are.

It looks like rubbing marks from the rubber insulation between the stringers, not much of a big deal but would rather take care of it now.
