well let me first start off by saying i'm absolutely in love with my boat and treat it as my child.........that being said, I got a REALLY good deal on it, put some work in it myself, installed the tower myself, etc. etc. Long story short I think its worth more than i have in it, (to the tune of 3 or 4 thousand)

I was going to see what everyones opinion is on trying to sell to make a profit, when you really don't want to sell. I use the boat all the time and if i sold it i would just want to turn around and buy up. The thing i'm worried about is all the people that just want to talk and never show money. Then everyone is going to want to test drive it and not buy it wasting a lot of time. Do you think its more of a hassle and i shouldn't even mess with it? the more i think about it the more its probly a bad idea.........thanks for any insight!

p.s. if i did sell someone would HAVE to pay me what i want for it, there would be little to no negotiation, which would negate the reason for selling

If you are selling that for 3-4K, I need to move to Texas!

That out of the way, if you love the boat and it serves you well, why get rid of it and have to start all over again? Now if you want to move up and the only thing in your way is still owning this boat, then sell it and move up. I wouldn't recommend selling just because there may be a buck in it for you. That buck may be lost in frustration with your next purchase.

All in all, only you know if that is *your* boat or not, and I'm not sure if you even know that right now. Maybe you should head out to a marina that rents boats (like the one you might want) and see if you love or hate the change. You may be willing to give up the extra few feet simply because this boat is configured just so..

Yeah,

With your expectations and today's market it seems as if you are probably keeping your current ride. Enjoy it and forget about selling at a profit and not negotiating with today's buyers.

You would have had to have gotten it dirt cheap in order to break even.

Just my .02......

FWIW, I just bought a boat after looking at more than 10 different ones over 6 weeks. The first nine I looked at all had issues that excluded them from consideration, despite the ads saying otherwise. The one I ended up buying had no issues worth mentioning, so I didn't mind going over NADA. IF your boat is as good in person as it looks in the pic, you should be able to sell it quickly.

If I were selling I'd be happy to take a BUYER on a test drive. That means the deal is basically finalized before a test drive. Then we go for a ride and if successful the boat's there's. If they find issues we renegotiate or cancel the sale. That eliminats the the joy riders.
