Thinking of upgrading my boat

So this is my second year out in our local bay with my boat, 18'
2004 Maxum 1800Sr3. I love my boat. She's in great shape and has been good to me. But our bay is always getting choppy especially in the afternoon. With 2-3 ft chop and 15-20 knot winds, I don't always feel comfortable being out, especially with the family. I was looking into something a little bigger, figuring it would help to limit some of the days I can't go out on the boat. I would really like something in a cabin cruiser and 2 boats I came across that I really liked were a 2008 Maxum 2500Se or a 1998 Monteray 260 SCR. Both are 25ft. Not 100% sold on these particular boats, just the style boat they are, so don't need much input on these particular types, more interested in if I would see a better ride in something this size and type and be able to handle some rougher sea or just keep my current boat as they would be similar.

Thanks!

Sometimes bigger means it will be used less, it can be more of a hassle and cost to push off from the dock. It helps if you keep the boat in a slip though, some people don't like launching a 25' boat with little to no help.

Oh, I am currently in a slip now and would remain so for for a new boat. I was concerned about the whole bigger boat less use thing. In my Marina, it seems like a lot of people just sit on their boats and don't go out much. That's why I was looking at around 25'....V8 engine so figured not to bad on gas.

It will ride better and handle the rough seas better, without a doubt.
