What do you use to thin DAP Weldwood Original Contact Cement? Xylene, Toluene, MEK?

I have a 1/2 a gallon that's thickened a bit and need to thin it down, so I can use it. I think I've tried acetone and lacquer thinner in the past, but it didn't work as it wouldn't mix in with the contact cement.

I'm not looking for "DAP" contact cement thinner as it would be a pain to find.

your sure acetone didn't work? That's what I've always used with success.

I'll try a little acetone again and see if it works, maybe it was lacquer thinner that didn't work for me  I just remember trying to mix it in and it ended up looking like a pot of spaghetti, with the contact cement not mixing with the thinner.

Thank WOG, I'll try xylene if acetone doesn't do the trick.

I picked up a gallon of spray grade contact cement from my local upholstery supply house ($25), so the ol' brush on stuff isn't top priority anymore. Still need it for some small areas though...
