OK, I'm going nuts and I can't seem to find a way to search these forums (or google) to find out how one disconnects this connector. I've pulled, pushed, tried to pry, etc. My brother in-law and his friend started to get the jumbo pliers out and I called a halt! There's got to be a trick, but for the life of me (and those two - who by the way with me, were completely sober) I can't figure it out. Can anyone help me figure out the trick to disconnect this junction? If you do, you will hear the sigh of relief wherever you live...

Looks like there may be a lock tab at the top of the smaller connector, try pushing down on the tab and pull the 2 connectors apart.

Take a small flat screw driver and insert it between the two connectors over the red wire, mine had a lock inside.

No luck yet... Have a small jewelers screwdriver, but pushing in doesn't seem to unlock. Looks like I need something blade-like, skinny and long.

I know we don't condone torture, but whoever designed this harness might warrant a policy change!

Your screw driver may be to small, use a flat blade screw driver with a 1/4" wide blade.

I RAN INTO one that had been epoxied to keep it together. You may have that to deal with.....

Wow - this is now getting to be a quest! Kids off school (parent-teacher conferences). My daughter's friend was over with his dad. He worked as a mechanic for 6 years (Ford master mechanic certification). Put him to work on it. Had to give him a few beers a half hour later to calm the nerves.

This is a parts motor (I'm refurbing for the spring) so time (hopefully) is on my side. At this point, I don't know if I can let this thing beat me. I put my wire clippers behind glass with a small hammer on a chain. If it comes to an emergency....

Different connectors on different models. If this is a two wire model trim motor you have a simple connector that requires you to slip a thin screwdriver under the locking device between the male connector and the female connector. This lifts the lock and allows the separation. If you have a round connector these just pull apart.
