Re: This is a sick dude!!

These doctors get people hooked on meds and it turns them into different people. Most would never take their addiction that far but at the same time some of the blame has to go to his doctor. I know a LOT of people that have been turned into different people because of pain meds that were prescribed by their doctors. I know a guy that got 120 Percocets for a ear infection. Things like that should never happen! and some of these people i know you would not believe (teachers, lawyers, nurses) that they could be affected by this addiction.

Seems to me that burning at the stake would fit his crime.

wow, one sick guy. While in college I did a paper on alternative punishment which included flogging and a cat-o-nine tails. Seems like he would be an excellent candidate for a serious *ss whipping.:D

Wow, I was reading this thinking that is about the craziest thing I've heard- so I can get another script? Burn your home? Now that's some short sighted thinking.

Then I saw it was in Stark.

drug addiction is a terrible thing, and people will go to terrible lengths to get what they want. i feel so bad for this family and even the guy that did it, he has a very large problem and look where its gotten him. i would rather die then be in his position right now.

Re: This is a sick dude!!

Maybe the dude was really medically sick such as a brain tumor that made him go beyond rational thinking. Very much like so many other articles that the reporter puts the spin on to anger people. It is very sad that this happens that makes people jump to conclusions from an article. I don't know the full story so I cannot judge his addiction or not. Maybe he was selling his meds to put food on the table. Or was it another case where he just couldn't handle a job loss and killed his family. Family suicide and single suicide has jumped by leaps and bounds as the stock market goes down, but the media hasn't put any reports out on it.

One thing for sure, if it was for self gratification on his part, donate him to fed the tiger exhibit at the zoo. (just make sure the pain meds is out of his body,,,,,,,,,,,,,don't want to get those tigers addicted :D )

ANY time I have had a prescription for any type of pain killer or muscle relaxer it was for NO refills. I have never had anything horribly wrong with me, but I belive most times a trip in to see the doc once your pills are gone should be mandatory. this is the responsability of the doctors as well.

In fact many times I have had the doctor tell me to go home, take a few Ibuprofins and call in a day or so if Im still having troubles. 99% of the time thats all I needed.

Your right! There are never any refills for a opioid controlled substance. The reason for this is that people can become addicted to the medication and turn into a different person. If they give out refills then someone could abuse the medication and do things that they would not normally do (like burn a building down to get more, or robbing a pharmacy or liquor store for dope money). Fact is sometimes these kinds of drugs do bad things to normal people who get hooked on them. Someone that is hooked to Oxycontin is just as bad as someone hooked to shooting up heroin. Thats the bottom line. And the person hooked to the meds can be a normal person that you cant tell apart from anyone else. Like i said before -teachers, DR's, Lawyers, Military personnel, or any other profession. There is starting to be more regulation on how these types of pain meds are being prescribed.

How do we know that after he started the fire he didnt make sure everyone got out.....Just sayin...( Thats not a killin offence ).... I no longer trust the media to tell me the whole truth so what would be more exciting to report????? Started a fire with people inside and didnt even warn them or burnt up his stuff and got everybody out so he could end the pain of being sick from no drugs?

Either way he is a waste of good air and I have personally watched family members go from heros to zeros with Prescription drugs. I had a Doc who would prescribe anything I asked for my minor wounds......thats the guys who should be strung up......this guy well put him away until he is better or no longer able to hurt others.......By the way prison wont help addicts.....My brother is an addict and he has stooped very, very, very low to get his drugs. He has spent the last yr in Jail and now they are gonna release him soon.....guess what he is still an addict and guess what he will do when he gets out?......He knows no other way and all he learned in jail is how to win at cards.....how to make jailhouse hooch and weapons and who to go to when he gets out to get some drugs........It happens everyday in every city and you only hear about the big cases......or ones spun in an interesting way......

What a fool! Everyone knows all you have to do in find 2 or 3 more Drs who will write you a script. The side benifit of having several Drs prescribing is that you can sell the extra and make a few extra $$. Someone needs to explian the medical systen to this poor confused individual. :) :)

Bet it was Oxycodone.

I dont agree that being hooked on oxycontin is bad at all. Look at that fat sob rush LImbballs, He eats them like candy and already arrested for it yet he is still smarter than our President, knows more and able to lead us better than anyone since George Washington.......He knows everything
