Ken,<br /><br />Yes, with the 1997 and newer FJ-100 Toyota buried the solid front axle for ever. As I can affirm from my experience with my Toyota Tacoma 4X4, TRD Limited that built in the US, unless the VIN starts with a "J" don't bother with it. Both mine and Dee's are FJ-80's, both made in Japan, and the fit and finish is superb. We looked at the FJ-100, but as soon as peeked under the front end and saw IFS, the consideration was over.<br /><br />Sean, I misspelled "sensitive" because I can't spell worth a crap.

CallicoKid, I drove all the way to Cleveland to buy my TLC. Thanks to the salt up there, it IS ALSO a rusty piece of crap, but I love it so.....Power everything, leather, 9 speaker stereo, factory lockers in the diffs and transfer case. The handle that opens the rear hatch from the outside rusted off. Before opening the back of the truck, get a tetanus shot! Anyway, she ain't perfect, but I lover her i love her i love her!!

CalicoKid,<br /><br />We like to go trail riding and playing in mud and clay pits. We like to do some light rock climbing, shallow water crossing, and general off road playing. Plus, like a gun, it is better to have it and not need than need and not have it. I have pulled people who were stuck in the sand at thebeach and saved them $75 towing fee. Pulled people who got stuck in the median trying to turn aroung. I have pulled a few law enforcement officers who stuck thier cruisers. After the hurricanes I was hired to drive a state inspector around on the beaches. That was fun! There is all kinds of fun stuff to do with a 4X4 in Florida. I don't plan on ever owning 2 wheel drive anything, ever.
