Re: this is getting old

some have said on this forum that they have used the boat or a car horn so they can hear the alarm go off.
ive been thinking about it, due to the fact i can barely hear mine when testing it.
-
anyone out there know if you have to do something special to hook up a louder alarm?

Okam,

I use these in my line of work. Look at this link and find the MA-2 Piezo Sounder. These at one time were made by Moose Industries. This unit produces 2 sounds, 1 beeping , the other a straight tone. There are 2 seperate inputs for 2 sensors. One signal input can be used for a Temp. alarm, the other for VRO failure. Trust me, you won't sleep thru any alarm with this unit. It produces a 100db sound output and uses input voltages from 4 to 24VDC. The unit draws only 25ma of current (25/1000ths of an amp.)
http://www.americominc.net/products/security/sentrolsirens.htm
