I have an Evinrude 85hp 1969. The motor is now being stored until I find a new platform for it(maybe for my 15 y/o son if deserving).

I have a set of good working controls w/the motor. I also have 2 extra switches for the controls as spares. The motor runs great so I'm keeping it.

Now the question. In addition to the above I also have a BRAND NEW set of Selectric controls which have never been used. It even has the parts in sealed factory plastic bags. Are these worth much as they are NOS? I'm trying to decide whether I should Thrifty them on iboats or hold on to them. Unless they are worth a lot I'll just keep them. Any thoughts? I have no idea if these are hard to come by or not in new condition.

I'M NOT TRYING TO SELL THEM ON THIS POST. Just looking for input.

Thanks, John

Shame you aren't over here in the UK-I've seen LOADS of electric shift johnrudes for sale without controls over here lately...

Nos4r2, I see lots of 35+ year old controls on ebay. I just don't know if these are worth decent money as they are mint/unused. Don't know what they'd be worth to someone doing a restoration. If they're valuable I'm gonna sell them and buy stuff for my new boat. :)

Much in demand by owners of electric shift models. How much? Well, you won't retire on the money, but you'll make some owner really, really happy.
