I took a picture of what I am doing to change my seals in the water pump to try to fix my problem.

I ordered my thermostat and gasket today.

In the picture #1 has to come off which needs to be pulled off to take the water pump cover off I believe?

#2 Is where the weep hole where the water was pouring out off.

#3 Is the cover that needs to come off to acess the water pump and change the seals?

Just want to make sure I am doing this right, or theres something I am doing wrong, or something does not need to be done.

Any tips or advice would be great, you guys have been lots of help so far!

Review the section in the Merc manual for seal replacement
1 comes off and the stator must be removed
3 No, this cover comes off to remove the impeller vane, then the main timing case cover is removed .If the cam is grooved ,it should come out for Speedi-Sleeves
This link explains the procedure

BUT anti-freeze should be coming out , not just water
