After a few pop's, my fishing pal told me my bow line
was too short, so we decide to replace it.
So we unclip the winch strap, untie the old bow line and
replace it with a nice long length of floating line.
A few more pop's while admiring my bright new bow line
and it's time to pack up.
next morning, up early as the bite has been good
and start backing down the ramp, when i hear the roller's
start rolling.
Panic stricken , i look at the rearview just in time to see
the boat flying off the back of the trailer onto the concrete ramp.
You guessed it, i forgot to hook up the winch clip

I once saw the result of a guy that didn't tie his boat down at all. Seems there is quite a bit of wind lift at 70 MPH :%

Scotty, is your boat aluminum or glass. My 14' tinny hit the ramp once, and I'll never forget it! I would hate to hear a glass boat landing on a ramp.

Thats not the kind of mistake you will make twice !!! I have seen it done by a guy that dropped it in that way anyway so it floated off but he hit the brakes too early and too hard. Looks great and saves an apparently long 2 minutes for some of these guys. Not me though, I would rather take a little longer and be considered stupid and boring by these people. Hopefully I never forget.
