Almost every other time I get a error message, system error, this error , that error. WTF The old site was a heck of a lot better.

This new version of vbulletin has been up for all of 10 hours. If you have any issues with the forum we appreciate positive suggestions in the Forum Issues section. No need to post this here. Thanks.

I only ask you all to do one thing. Ask yourself "would I do something that was going to hurt my business just because I felt like it?" The obvious answer is "No", which is precisely what I would expect of iboats if I was a rational person. I guess that assumes iboats is rational too, which I would suggest is obvious based on their success.

Try to give it some time guys, the iboats team will be working on the new program for a long time to come at making it more user friendly I'm sure. As time goes on and we all get settled in on how the new system performs, it won't be all that bad especially with your support of adding positive input of what should help make it better for everyone.

As we all know, change is typically pretty difficult to get used to at first but changes are eventually overcome in time.

I remember the last big change here on iboats and a few other sites as well, most members seemed to hate it at first, but then became used to it so much that now most want it back already.;) But like the last change over, in time it became better. Hopefully this new version of vbulletins 5 should turn out the same way as before.

When possible think positive vs negative and good things will happen over time. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during the upgrade.:)

As an I.T. person by profession, I am fully aware of the complexities of a software upgrade, and would offer no critique to the huge effort that has been going on in the background over the past few days. So, like the mods say, give it some time. There is most likely a lot of 'tweaking' that has to be done and users will take some time to get used to the new format.

Probably the same sort of things happened at the last major upgrade.

Should this thread be moved to the website issues forum :noidea:

Probably so but I think the web site area is not available.

Yep. there are problems but still the best place I have ever been at for info, I'll give it some more time :)

Yep, I'd agree with that.

Some sites do "upgrades" where you can't get to the site at all but with the upgrade here the content was still there to read and catch up on existing threads that some of us might have been behind on:embarassed:

Yeah they have problems...I got an error messages something about "a serious error...." Found out later my message was posted twice.

I'm writing this hoping the web guys will notice that we are having trouble.

I agree this is a great forum.

Thanks for that tpenfield. Yes, normally we would have moved this by now, but at this time we seemed to have lost a few of the "tools" needed to move posts or threads. So we're also waiting patiently to get certain things back in order to try and catch up on the many misplaced threads all over the forums.
