That's a bold statement to make in a Chrysler forum bhile, I guess there's always gotta be one troll. The 55hp is a solid little motor. There are TONS of parts for them still, and if maintained, it will run for decades. I personally own 2 of them, and the oldest is a 73 with over 300 hrs on it (the one in my avatar). If you can get a good deal on it, I would not hesitate.

What would be the reasons to Run, bhile? I have had a 1970 35 hp Chrysler (possibly related if one carb) since 1984, purchased as a starter. It proved to me quick that it was the motor I needed for my 3-4 months of fishing on the 15? Raycraft. It has impressed me with very little routine maintenance and not one major problem. I feel the History of the Solid Motor?s Care is the Key Factor.
