What are your thoughts on Sierra parts such as Powerpacks, Coils, Rectifiers, Etc? How do they measure up to OEM parts? Does Sierra make their own parts? Looking at some new parts and they sure are cheaper. Sometimes by a bunch.....Is it worth the savings??

I like the coils I've used better than OEM. Points seem the same as OEM but don't include a wick. I don't know about the rest.
The coils are made by Prufrex Elektro-Apparatebau.

Thanks Paul. I believe I've heard that somewhere else about the coils. Curious about major components like the Powerpack and Stator, too....

There's nothing wrong with the Sierra stuff but don't overlook CDI. I don't know what motor youre looking at parts for but CDI is a very very good company. Positively better than OE.

Thanks D. I'll take a look at them. I've been there before, but not for myself. 91' Rude 70 HP.....Right now just looking at coils. Got one bad one and I think I'm gonna do all 3 since they're pretty cheap...

try CDI Rapair
I have always had decent service with sierra ign parts, when I could match the application.
the warrenty from Rapair and sierra is normally one year vs 90 days or less on OEM.

Bought a stator from CDI-Rapair, very pleased with it! Also, bought a timer gap guage from them and it fixed my right up. CDI = Good Stuff.

Re: Thoughts on Sierra ignition parts

Thanks for the input. I have found a source for CDI parts at a real good price. That's what I'm gonna go with since most of you feel they are the best second choice....
