Hi everybody,
I'm considering selling my old Wellcraft V20 and getting something smaller, easier to trailer, and more fuel efficient. Thinking of the 1720 DC. Anybody have thoughts on the pluses and minuses of this boat. It will be myself and my wife and two labrador retrievers riding. No kids.
Thanks

Re: Thoughts on the 1720

depends on the conditions that you will be in. I have the 186CC and I love it. 115f on the back, i get about 4.5 mpg at cruise. pretty good if i do say so. very easy to trailer. I will tell you that the hatch to get to the transom and bilge and the bowels is very small. you cant fit a chest into it. hope this helps.

Re: Thoughts on the 1720

I have a 1720 dc. its a great boat, good value, rides suprisingly well in small chop, espeically for its size. at 1200lbs one person could wheel it around a driveway with little hastle. one of the only things i can say bad about it is the height of the sides. although this makes it easy to load, unload, and clean the inside of the boat when on the tailer, there is really nothing to hold on to when your standing up in the boat. this also means that the steering wheel is at my knees when I'm standing up so its difficult to drive while standing. I hope this helps a little. Good luck!
