I have a 125 mercury O.B. (2003) with a side mount Suzuki control box. The RPMs fade during cruising speeds when I take hand off of throttle and I have to push throttle back down or hold it in forward position to regain speed. Is there an adjustment either on throttle box or motor (cable)to keep it in position and not fade?

Re: Throttle adjustment

There should be a Throttle adjustment screw on the front side of the control box. It alters the tension of the trottle lever. You will have to experiment as to which way to turn it to get the correct tension

Re: Throttle adjustment

Thanks for reply....checked control box and I can not find any opening, screwhole, etc to enable adjustment. I will have to figure out a way to get inside the control box if possible.

Is there a tension adjustment for throttle on motor ?? I don't want to make this harder to operate, just need it to stay in place...any other ideas??

Re: Throttle adjustment

No adjustment on engine.

You may look in the stickys for the zuki control box to find a friction adj.
