Hi all. I'm looking to replace my two cables for throttle and shifting gear. My question is; What size do I buy new ones based on the only number found on the cables which is 3999014. Boat is 1988 205 offshore Sportcraft walkaround with 140 hp OMC SeaDrive outboard mounted on an OMC hydraulic bracket. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Usually the cables have the lenth stamped on them. You can take them out and measure them.

I just replaced the cables on my 16 foot bass boat. I tied strong cord (i used parachute cord) to the control end (helm end) and pulled the cables out one at a time which left the parachute cord to pull the new ones. I laid the old one out straight and measured end to end. Old ones were 10 feet 8 inches, so I ordered 11 footers.
Pretty straight forward replacement repair.
