I came across a 1959 40hp Scott-Atwater. The the throttle and shift levers were attached with cables but the levers seem all stripped out, and naturally I took it apart and it all fell apart (stripped out, pretty much junk). Im wondering if there are some generic throttle/shift levers a guy can use in place? And if so, where can these be had?

Re: Throttle Cable Help

Teleflex makes generic controls. Get them right here at iboats. If memory serves me correctly, Scott controls were made by Morse. (That's a big IF) Teleflex now owns Morse.

EDIT: Do the cables have threaded ends that the adapters screw onto? That would be Morse.

Yes they do have threaded ends. I saw the controls here are all $100+, I was not wanting to spend that much money on it yet cause I havent got the motor running yet and am not certain it will. Dont know if I can pick up a control housing and levers at a boat dealer, maybe they have one in the back room they will sell me cheap. Dont know.
